Welcome!
I write women's fiction, paranormal romance, essays, and magazine articles. Writing is usually a solitary activity, but my two critique partners extraordinaire read my pages weekly and make sure I don't get away with weak characters, blah plot, or incomprehensible prose. My support system also includes the fabulous men and women of the Inland Empire Chapter of Romance Writers of America.

I can't believe it's already 2012. I've started the New (writing) Year with a bang. I'm taking Candace Haven's Fast Draft class and it's kicking my butt but also freeing up a lot of writing hang-ups. I'm sure I'll talk more about this on the blog, once I get a chance to breathe.
Here are my other fun writing activities already booked for this year:
I'm going on a trip to Portland for the Rose City RWA Chapters' Spring Intesive in March. It was so much fun last year, especially the agent/editor speed dating. I can't wait to see what they have lined up this year.
In May, our chapter is heading to Bear Creek Lodge at the base of Mount Spokane for a three day writing retreat. We have one almost every year and it's a great opportunity to get a bunch of writing done and also catch up with my local RWA sisters and brothers.
I had a blast at my first RWA national conference last year. This year it is in Anaheim in July. Last year, I think about three people from the IECRWA chapter went, this year there's going to be a whole bunch of us. I can't wait to have fun with my fellow chapter sister, old friends from other chapters, and meet new friends--all while being right next to Disney Land!.
Last year I finished Cherry Adair's Finish the Dam Book Challenge. It's amazing how much this fabulous author gives back to the writing community. I'm signed up again for this year and will be attending Emerald City Writers Conference again in October to visit old friends, attend awesome workshops, and of course get my FTDB certificate.
May 2012 be a fabulous year for all of us!

All the authors and the editor of this book are donating the royalties to fund scholarships for Delhi slum kids who manage to graduate from high school. The Rotary club in Delhi (via a Rotary Club in Maryland) are administrating the scholarships and vetting and mentoring the young men and women who qualify. Read the intro to the book, which includes a fabulous recipe for Curried Carrot Soup, on Random House's website. Purchase a copy now from your favorite store:
